Does it matter where you get your MBA from - assuming it is accredited? I’m currently a software engineer debating on making the switch and I’d have 150 credits and the required amount of accounting courses to take the CPA. Though idk if they’d hire someone with a comp science undergrad MBA with CPA.

Ironically, people in the workforce like to call workers lazy but they are too lazy to train their employees. I find that ironic.

A “Good receipt” does not credit AP. It credits a Liability account. Matching an invoice to a PO receipt is what credits the Payable account. Once you make the payment you debit AP and Credit Cash.

So exciting! Just a bit bit mistake at Step # 9: deferred revenue but in the blackboard is Accrued Expenses.

Hello Bill , Can a foreign graduate with a Master’s degree in accounting from US wwith GPA3.76 get a job in accounting field if he needs H1B sponsorship ? How hard can it be to get the job ? I speak Chinese and English. Do I get much better chance getting the job if a US company is doing business with China and needs an account who is bilingual?

Hi Bill, your videos are super helpful! True story here. I worked in accounting for over 12 years. I oversaw acc payable, receivable, billing, I did some journal entries and helped with closing the books. I dont have a CPA or an accounting degree, but an economics/management degree. Our company was acquired by a huge real estate company in 2022. At that time I was a Senior Accounting Specialist and they changed my title to Sr. Account. I worked as a Sr. Account for 2 years, but mostly did my usual AP, AR, Billing, JE etc. They just announced me I will be layoff in September. So, I am confused as what to do with my carrier. Any advice would be much appreciated. Do I go to applying to Sr. Accountant jobs, but I dont have the confidence I can manage that role. Going back to Accounting Specialist would not make sense either. Do i chose other similar profession and what that would be? I am 49. Seeing your videos kinda gave me hope I can understand accounting better and I can apply for an accountant job. Any advice would be great. Do you have some particular videos that I should dig into to cover the basics and give me a chance to be hired and succeed as an Accountant. I have many and very good recommendations from my former supervisors, directors, project managers etc. Thanks so much!

Question - If we are booking the vacation liability captures part of an employees yearly compensation. Does this mean that this portion of their salary is reduced when booking unpaid wages to the balance sheet?

I do believe in accounting the work-life balance can be more stressful as there are tight deadlines to close books, send financials, etc!
